I was let go from my job in October 2023 due to the need to reduce operating costs, and it was a tough pill to swallow. My SEO department was thriving, with a steady influx of new clients, consistently high job performance, and glowing annual reviews. I maintained a positive attitude in the workplace, fostering excellent team synergy. However, it all boiled down to numbers. This experience made me reflect on the investment I put into my growth and improvement.
I realized that I didn’t want to potentially face similar situations in the future with other employers. That’s when the idea of taking matters into my own hands and running my own company, Offset Digital, began to take shape. Welcome to my website. My Time at Jeff Cook Real Estate:
Hey guys! My name is Cory Towler, I graduated from Charleston Southern University with a Dual Major in Marketing & Graphic Design. While I was in College at CSU, I had the opportunity to intern under Jeff Cook Real Estate. Shortly after graduating, I was promoted to Creative & Art Director for the Company. During my time at JCRE, I was responsible for developing new ideas, systems, websites, and brand assets. I also managed and oversaw advertising campaign timelines, built and maintained all website projects, and handled lead routing and parsing into platforms across all companies. Additionally, I generated monthly and quarterly reports on lead sources and SEO traffic. I facilitated all creative meetings for the company and served as project manager for all design resources. I was also responsible for advertising negotiation.
One of my biggest accomplishments was completely rebranding Jeff Cook Real Estates entire brand. I also oversaw the graphic design and signage for our office expansions. To stay relevant, I maintained knowledge of real estate and marketing trends. My role even extended to assisting in the development of new brands and businesses under Jeff Cook Enterprises, including Rent Holy City, Titan Home Buyers, Southeastern Title Company, Charleston Real Estate School, Jeff Cook Offers, South Carolina Land Trust, Jeff Cook Luxury Homes, and Jeff Cook Cares.”
Working at MediaBeast Marketing
I came to the realization that I was called to greater things, and in March 2021, I joined MediaBeast Marketing Group as their SEO Manager & Executive Assistant. While at MediaBeast, I had the opportunity to work with some of Charleston’s recognized brands, including Leisure Depot, ServiceMaster, SwampFox Agency Insurance, Jeff Cook Real Estate, Charleston Radio Group, Holy City HVAC, and Peter David Brown Accident Attorneys. My focus was on developing and executing SEO strategies, analyzing data from tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Wordstream, and SEMRush to improve their search engine rankings. I built and optimized websites, managed content, and developed creative campaign strategies to boost overall performance. I built the SEO Strategies for over 30 of our clients and implemented them with some remarkable success. My in-depth SEO reports and client engagements helped me build strong relationships. Additionally, I actively sought out new software solutions to enhance our services. Throughout my role, I meticulously performed monthly SEO audits for a portfolio of 30+ accounts, constantly identifying opportunities for improvement.

Before we dive into the good stuff (Yeah, it gets better), let me tell you about Car Keys To Go, an awesome car key replacement company located all around South Carolina. This local business was struggling to get people to find them online. After our discovery call, I got to work. There was a lot of work to be done but we started with a complete rebuild from the ground up of the website. Their original website was on WIX (Which is known for its issues with SEO and Google crawling them) and they were only receiving about 15 leads each month coming in from their website, with no idea of how those leads were coming in. We rebuilt the website, set up tracking with analytics, and began pushing local SEO to their target locations.
We initiated our SEO campaign with six carefully selected focus keywords for each location. Criteria for selection included overall search volume, keyword difficulty, and alignment with the search intent of those seeking immediate service. The keywords included Car Key Replacement, Key Remote Replacement, Smart Key Replacement, Key Programming, Car Remote Replacement, and Replacement Car Key.
At the outset, their highest-ranked keyword, “Key Remote Replacement,” resided at position 18 on Google’s search results (Page 2). The table below illustrates the initial positions for their focus keywords and the significant progress achieved since then. Presently, they hold positions 2-3 on Google, a remarkable leap from their initial placements on pages 2 or 3 for most Rock Hill keywords. Every single one of their Rock Hill keywords now resides at the top of the coveted Page 1 on Google.
Now you may ask, did they increase on the amount of form submissions and leads they were receiving? They absolutely did. They are currently averaging anywhere from 60-80 quality leads each month.
